Privacy policy
Framedevice does not collect, store or share any personal data. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no third-party tracking, and it does not send anything about you or your device to the developer or anyone else.
Your screenshots, recordings and photos
You choose a screenshot, a screen recording or a backdrop photo with the system photo picker, so the app only receives the images and videos you pick. They are used on your device to build your mockup, including when a video is exported, and are not uploaded anywhere. When you save a mockup or a video, Framedevice asks for add-only access to your photo library: it can add the finished image or video but cannot read your existing photos.
Syncing your saved looks
The looks you save (a frame, backdrop, size and placement) are kept on your device and synced between your own devices through iCloud, using the Apple ID you are already signed in with. They are stored in your iCloud account, which only you can read, and Framedevice's developer has no access to them. A look does not include your screenshots, recordings or photos. If you are not signed in to iCloud, your looks stay on that device.
On the Mac
The Mac app runs in the App Sandbox. It can read only the files you choose in the open panel or drop on its window, and it can save only where you choose or add to Photos with add-only access. Nothing is uploaded.
The camera
The camera is used only when you open the Capture tab, to take a photo for your mockup. Photos stay on your device unless you save or share them yourself.
Device information
The Device tab reads information such as your model, system version, display, battery, storage, network status and available sensors, directly from your device. It is shown on screen only. It leaves your device only if you tap Share and send the report somewhere yourself, for example as a PDF.
Network
Framedevice makes one kind of network request: it downloads Apple's public list of the latest iOS releases (from gdmf.apple.com) so the Device tab can tell you whether an update is available. The request carries no information about you or your device, because the app picks your model's entry from the list on the device itself. As with any request to a web server, Apple can see your IP address. The answer is remembered for a few hours so the list is not downloaded again each time.
The app also reads the type of connection you are using (for example Wi-Fi) so it can show it in the device report. This is read from the system and is not sent anywhere.
TestFlight and Apple
If you install a beta through TestFlight, Apple may collect usage and crash information under Apple's own privacy policy. The developer sees only what Apple chooses to share through TestFlight, such as tester feedback you send.
Children
Framedevice does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
